Welcome to NACOPRW Northern Illinois Chapter

National Conference of Puerto Rican Women

Welcome to the NACOPRW Northern Illinois Chapter, a not-for-profit organization which provides professional enhancement and community service to promote leadership, culture, and history in the lives of Puerto Rican and Latina women.

Our chapter was founded on February 19, 2001, and has been working diligently to provide meaningful professional development and civic involvement opportunities for women and youth in Illinois. We are proud to maintain a strong connection to our national and sister chapters.

The NACOPRW Northern Illinois Chapter is dedicated to promoting the involvement Puerto Rican and other Hispanic women in the social, economic, and political structures of their communities.

NACOPRW (National Conference of Puerto Rican Women) Northern Illinois serves as a catalyst for the fostering and development of leadership among young women through their participation and cultural activities, community involvement and many other avenues.

NACOPRW Northern Illinois enriches its membership through education workshops, training seminars, information dissemination and networking. NACOPRW Northern Illinois also provides scholarships to Puerto Rican women individually at the local level.

NACOPRW Northern Illinois Chapter coalesces with other women’s groups at the local and national level, therefore extending its visibility and outreach throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

NACOPRW Northern Illinois keeps its membership and friends informed of issues affecting Puerto Rican women and their community throughout the United States.

We invite you to attend one of our events, become a member, or participate in our national convention. Our organization is committed to instigating positive social change and mentoring the future leaders of our community: There no obstacles in life but those that one places in her or his own way.
